i know its not to much of a jump but will a 144 trake fit a 136 skid it on a 1998 srx 700
Yes. If you change the tunnel ext and add rail ext.

Yep, that works too. Will get a better angle of attack with moving the skid back. Will still need a tunnel ext.
what srx? 121 or mtn? skid relocation may not be an option. how did you get to 136?

it has a 136 on it now and its mtn
take a look at where the bolts are for the front w-arm. is it forward or back from the steering hoop frame?
if its forward, measure from the bolt to the steering hoop or just measure back 2.5" and see where it lands. i think the 2.5" lands right on the hoop or barely clears it. this is where the bolt would need to be to relocate the skid for a 141.
look for a 144, if you havent committed to a track yet. they are usually more readily available and the skid relocation easliy clears the steering hoop.
