I have nearly 4000 miles on my 2000 SX700R. Does the primary spring and Secondary get weak and need to be replaced over time? How long is a spring good for when riding aggressive trail riding?
Thanks
Thanks

springs
I replaced mine @ 12,000 miles so I think it is safe for you to run 'em some more.

Turned 7k mi on my '01 last year. Primary spring broke unloading it from the trailer after the last ride of the season. Perfect timing!

they are supposed to be replaced about every 3-4 thousand miles, and you will notice a difference in performance and revs when you do

Thanks for the responses, I replaced the secondary with a different spring, so for less than $20 replacing the primary would make sense.
Does Yamaha publish a recommended maintenance schedule for less obvious parts that need to be replaced such as springs, weights, rollers, etc... or is this all part of annual maintenance checks that they expect the dealer to do?
