My srx will take off . but if I let off the throttle and go again it won,t go unless i let it get all the way down to an idle. Sometimes the problem just disappears. Any suggestions? I did visually look to see if the choke was working and the throttle cables seem to be working fine.

Probably TORS. I had all kinds of problems at one point. Make sure you have the throttle set with the proper slack in it like TJ500 says. If it's too tight it will not run right. I did have the switch on the carbs go out a couple years ago. So if your cable is set right, you need to check the TORS switches next.

I had the same problem and it was one of the TORS wires broken by the steering column.
