Part # Code or decoded

I'm remember reading a post here a few years ago that broke down the Yamaha part # coding.. I can't seem to find it..

Ex.. 8CR-2382F-02 & 8CV are same but differant colors...
I rememder the "CR" means one thing the "F" another. And some part of it is the color..

Any help would be great
