After recently getting this sled back together after 2 years of sitting, the brake is having problems. We just took the track off and put the right size on. But now the brake when tightned all the way in, locks up the sled. So i back off on the bolts and it works. But then the bolts back off and eventually have no brakes. Is there saposed to be a spacer in there it can be bolted down all the way?

Check your caliper that its not hanging up.Compress it back in all the way and then reinstall it and see.
i found out it was the auto adjusting system. So when we pulled the lever while the cailper was off caused it to rachet all the way off. To fix this you have to pull the back off and unscreww the ratchet to bring it back so the plunger will not lock up.

its not hydraulic on those year vmax's... Cable actuated. JC6711 has it right, there is a little round cover thing you need to take off, once you have that open its fairly obvious how to back off the self adjuster thingy. its just too tempting to grab the brake handle at some point with the brake not attached, i've done it myself!
