i believe i found what took out that rod......too much load/pressure on lower bearing, from rod being bent. the 2nd owner of the sled, took a hammer and socket to get the old wristpins out, when it blew the center rod, and i'm assuming he bent the rod when hitting on the wristpins. so, once the piston was on the rod and piston in bore, it was forcing the rod to be straight, but the lower rod bore wasn't parallel w/the bearing, thus creating weird angular side force/pressure, causing high heat from friction, and then kaboom!!
