Hey guys, quick question, when you put the pilot jet back in you screw it until lightly seated right? Or do you then have to back them out one turn? Because the tech section under "pilot" has a 1 by it?
thanks dan
thanks dan
The pilot jet gets tightened down.
The fuel screw gets turned in untill lightly seated then backed out the correct amount of turns for your aplication.

ok thanks alot....well the problem is now after putting my sled back together and starting it, it idles even higher now? pilots were a little plugged but sled always started and ran like a top...but I had the infamous idle hang so i figured i would go 1.5 on the fuel screws to cure it? well now it wants to idle higher with them backed out to that and they were at 1 and 1/8.....thanks for quick reply as im working on this as we speakedunn69 said:The pilot jet gets tightened down.

sounds like it has an air leak or u dont have the throttle cable adjusted correctly

if u have a hand held propane torch open it while the sled is running and move it around the intake boot area on each carb if it has an air leak the idle will go even higher

Ok I was in a rush and forgot to put the bottom ones in... I'll report Tom what happens
idle
I know it is a silly question but have you adjusted the idle screw. Now that the pilot jets are clean you might need to back of on your idle adjustment. It is natural for people to adjust the idle to keep sled idleing properly as the pilots are gradually getting plugged. Then when you clean them and put it back together and start it. It will idle high.
