I have a 2002 vmax 700 ER, it currently has 5,100 miles on it. I was just wonder when (if possible) do you guys think something in the motor is going to let go. (piston skirt, connecting rod, etc.......)

With good maintenance and proper care who knows, 10k 20k.
Luck always plays a factor also

Yup, many guys run these over 10k miles without touching them. A general rule of thumb is to rering at about 3000 miles but many many don't. We have a 97 SX we didn't crack open till 7400 miles. Had a crack in the piston skirt but who knows how long that could of went for yet lol. Ran great the day we took it apart and it still goes run great. Needed new pistons and rings though.
Good maintenance, good oil, a good warm up before riding, a short cool down after a long hard run, no over heating from low snow conditions and proper storage will all play into a long lived engine. If treated right it will last a long time.
10,600 going great

it was treated with cl 100

The redhead is one of the most reliable 2 cycle engines ever made and will go along time with proper care as has been mentioned.I've heard of them with 30,000 miles!v-max789 said:I have a 2002 vmax 700 ER, it currently has 5,100 miles on it.
