On a 2008 apex ltx gt the ohlin mono shock in the skid is there a plastic nut that turns to tighten the spring???

Black ring at the bottom is Rebound
On this shock, the compression is electronic, at the top.
Just below the gold canister (reservoir) is the spanner nut to adjust the spring preload.
