oil leak on 1985 phazer
Hi everyone!
My name is Brody, and I just joined TY forums!
I have a 1985 yamaha phazer 480, and am having some trouble with it. It's just a beater sled, and will not be around much longer, but I'd like to enjoy it while it still runs.
Problem #1. (This is what I need help with.)
The tach drive is leaking oil everywhere (where it goes into the motor), and it's getting onto my clutches and causing them to slip and engage all the time. Has this happened to anyone else on here? If so, what had to be replaced to stop the leak? I haven't taken it apart yet because the clutches have to come off to get at the drive, and I don't want to do this until I have the parts, as I still ride the sled. Is there some sort of seal that's leaking, or???
Problem #2.
The clutches are worn out and need replacing or rebuilding. I don't have a clutch tool to disassemble the clutches, so that's out. Does anyone have a working primary they'd sell cheap? I a student and am still in high school, so I can't afford a new clutch.
Problem #3.
The electrical system is pretty much shot (the internal coils/magnetos are shot.) and I have a VERY dim light. (I tried replacing the coils, but they went out right after. I later found out the bar warmers were shorting out, and the shorts ruined the coils. Does anyone know if an HID kit would work better with the little bit of voltage the coils put out? And if so, what type of bulb is needed, and where can I get them?
I'm sorry about all the questions, but I'm still a noob when it comes to snowmobiles.

Please help, I don't want to tear this thing apart without some ideas of what I will need.
