Handlebar Riser questions for Viper

For all the viper guys that have put risers on, How much of a riser can I put on my viper before I start having to get cable extensions? Thanks for any input.

I have a 2" but think you can go to 3" before extensions are needed. Do a search, there are a load of posts about this...

I have 2" and my cables don't have much slack left. Mine is a 02 so not sure if later models had longer cables.
