Hi guys just looking for second opinion. When giving the sled a post ride check i noticed i was down about a 1/4 inch of coolant. Looks like it came out the overflow. Im thinking i must have ran a little hot but no overheat light. Did get blip on the DCS at crusing speed once but whet right off. Things were stacked against me today. It was 0 deg F with a good wind. Running on the slower side on hardpack snow and ice, (had wife and duaghter with me today for the family ride). Carb heater were off, forgot to turn on (woops). This is also my CPR piped viper with rear exchanger. So adding that all up i would guess i ran a bit hot but why no temp warning light. Or do you think it was a quick one time thing. Has ran good all week, first time for this. Just worried i didnt get a light. plugs and piston wash good, maybe a tad lean on center but still nice and brown. So after all that rambling what do you guys think. Thanks Chris
sounds like it never got hot enough to put the temp light on, but was on the verge an the coolant level was getting high because of being hot an some came out the over flow. Sometimes mine light dosnt come on but i can see a few dots an whatnot under my overflow hose...but on the side not..i never lost a 1/4 before..so u could have a bad light..just my 2 cents

I don't think I'd get worked up over a 1/4" change in coolant level, but it's easy for me to say.

I know and im sure its fine. I tend to be very type A over my snowmobiles. Its just you put a lot of time and money into it for such a short riding season. I just dont want anything to go wrong. Whats the old saying "keep fixing it till its broke" is me for sure. Thanks for the input. Chris

Have you ever seen the temp light come on before because on a hot issue? I would check the temp sending unit. But I am also type A so take that for what it is worth. If you look in the service manual it will show how. Good luck and Cheers!

Light Has never came on, and this is the first time iv'e seen the coolant down a tad. So im sure i was running a tad hot just never overheated. I found the temp sensor check in my manual so ill probably just check to be sure. Like i said up top the conditions were hard snow and ice and was going slow. I also just thought the ride from the river to home is a good mile jaunt down the side of the road and i didnt hit fresh snow till the field behind my house. So i bet i had just started to get hot there and the field cooled it down before i overheated. Plus i think the start up sequence would tell me if the temp sensor is bad (8 flashes i think). Thanks again chris
