2000 sxr 700, previous owner had a 2 inch riser installed..... i still have the old block that came with the sled....how hard is it to put this back in? seems my sled is using more oil then it should... 70 miles to 1 quart of oil, and the gap is at 22 mm.... i heard that it could be the riser that is causing this, and if i remove the riser then i should be ok.... the rubber sleave is ok.. I do all trail riding, so never stand up, so riser is not needed... how do i remove the riser? is it a big job for a newbie? is the only cable that has to be rechecked is the the throttle cable? or are other cables have to be readjusted once i remove the 2 inch riser?

update
i just called the dealer who performed the work, and they advised me it was a 3 inch bar riser that they installed, and they did not add any cable extensions... what should I do? How do I remove the bar riser? he gave me a little metal piece with two holes in it... i guess thats what came off the sled... what do i remove and where does this piece go? and do i then have to adjust any cables? i have a feeling the bar riser is what is causing all my excessive oil usage troubles, and i dont need a riser

It's about a 10 minute job. Remove the bar cover and look it over. It will make sense.
Remove the current riser, replace with the original bar clamps, and your good to go. Might need to get different bolts depending on the riser used/length of mounting hardware. Then check cables and adjust if necessary.
