Wiring for 2-up seat hand warmers?

I have added a two-up seat to my standard '00 Vmax. Where do the wires for the handwarmers plug into? Do I need a splitter off of my brake/taillight? Do I need to splice into the standard hand warmer wires and run them to the back?
