Out for a ride Saturday on my 98 700 triple venture. Put about 120 miles on running lake. Everything going great, sled ran real strong all day. On my way home I had to stop at a rail crossing for a train to go by and shut my sled off. After train passed went to start my sled and the e start wouldn't work. Pull started and went home. Pulled hood in garage to make sure everything plugged in. Traced wires from battery post down to starter. Everythings connected. Anyone have any ideas what else I can check. Sled starts and runs by pull start. Headlight, tach, speedo, brake light all work. Just the e start seems to be down. What else can I check? Any help, advise, direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Check your fuses on the relay and box. Check relay switch, put a scredriver and touch both leads should turn motor over. Should give ya a good start. Heres a good post on trouble shooting help also. Chris http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=68720&highlight=electric+start

e start problem found
Went out to garage and had a look at my venture. E start quit on me Saturday and I asked for some input. After checking fuses, relay and seeing all that was good I traced positive and negative battery cables down to starter which was good and then negative down to bottom of engine. Right where the negative cable bolts and grounds to engine was my problem. Looks like after 12 + years the wires in cable frayed and let go from the connector. Tried getting bolt and connector off and it wouldn't budge. Cut wire from edge of connector and cut wire back till I found solid wire to reconnect. Now seeing how I couldn't get bolt out from bottom of engine, where would be a good place to reconnect the negative ground to? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
