What is the best after market head out etc... I have the opticool head gasket on now is there that much of a difference in cooling?

i personally have used the speedwerx and the megapower heads. both have worked fine. the megapowers are suppose to have the most coolant volume capacity. my bro has a megapower head for sale. it has custom trail domes, setup for .030" thick head gasket and 91 octane. it also comes w/108 octane race domes. interested? if so, pm me.

What are you looking to get out of the head? Only more cooling? If you could, try searching for the answer. Many heads are out there, Speedwerx, SRX heads, Peak Performance Heads, MPI Heads, Modified Stock Heads by Hauck, and probably a ew more I cant think of.

There is a metric boatload of information on here about aftermarket heads, and it is only a search term away.

Good Luck!

basically just looking for optimal cooling but wouldn't mind a quick way to swap domes to get a little more power.

If all you want is extra cooling for say triple pipes, Opticool head gasket is prob good enough.

I went with the Peak Perf head bc I bought it from a guy who was parting out his Mt Viper after a burn down from not cleaning his carbs. But it has a really nice water rail design that I like and believe it helps. That makes the Peak Perf head nice IMHO. Mine came with the flatlander domes (22cc volume I believe), but you can alter these for less cc capacity for elevation riding. I think some run 19cc or 20cc domes at higher elevations. I think makes it run with even more/ higher compression. I'm not sure how much more, but the Peak Perf head does have a higher compression than stock head and 91 octane gas is to be used with it.

I don't know anything about the other aftermarket heads.

;)!

I also have peak performance heads, they also state that it help reduce detonation.

Go do some searching and reading, as i posted above. If you want an answer, you NEED to understand squish, squish band, squish angle, compression ratio, some volumes, ect to make a decision on what will work best for you.
