Guys, would appreciate some help new sledder this year. I have a 1999 VMAX SX sled. The belt broke this last weekend and we replaced it, but now when it's at a stand still the sled squeals and squeaks really bad. On top of that if I let off the brake at a stop sign per say the sled really wants to go and the track starts going way too much. My buddy thinks it's the belt tension and we might need to adjust? Any thoughts I know there was talk of adding or removing shims to the secondary, but I have heard both answers to add and take away so hoping someone here has some idead and help. Greatly apprecaite any insight guys. Thanks

Remove shims from 3 small bolts from behind secondary
The top of your belt should ride flush to 2mm above the outer diameter of your secondary clutch. You can adjust the location of the belt relative to the secondary by adding or removing the washers on the three bolts on the backside of the secondary. They determine how far apart the two sheeves are set when the clutch is fully closed.
1. Adding washers allows the clutch to close up farther when fully closed which raises the belt relative to the clutch.
2. Removing washers pushes the clutch farther apart when full closed which lowers the belt relative to the clutch.
I am betting that the belt is too tight on the secondary because the washers were removed from the three bolts.
