Hi everyone!!!
I own a 1998 600 Vmax Xt with just over 10K. Motor has never been touched as far as pistons or rings being replaced. Just wanted to know if I should be tearing it down for inspection soon? My other question, how does one know if the reed valves are a issue without physically removing them for inspection? The sled runs well at an idle, but seems to be a little doggy in the mid range. The motor tends to make a high pitched buzz/rapping noise until you get into the higher rpm range.(stock exhaust). Maybe this is normal? Any recommondations on aftermartket reed valves for this particular model? Thanks guys!!
