2002 srx in the 3 prong all white wire plug from the stator all I get is a reading of 0.8 ohms, is this right and the right way to test? The manual says nothing..

thats all you can do is a ohm check..., that just means it isnt burned thru wire/ in half, or open circuit...but it doesnt tell you if it puts out enough power,so the only way to know is to replace it. Since you have replaced or swapped every other part and still have low rpm, its either the crankshaft is out of phase like i said or its a "weak" stator. The max load for the stator is wide open throttle, so if its rich, low on rpm you have one of the 2 problems listed.

crankshaft phase will be from prior blown belts, sometimes impact related, will let the crankshaft turn slightly and not be every 120 degrees, the piston is now not in time to the spark/port events, and charge instead of being used is sent out the exh. at the wrong time, this will yield low topend rpm/power from an engine. you have to take off the primary clutch, attach a degree wheel to crank end and then make a TDC stop for the cylinder, mark each cylinder TDC, there should be 120 degrees between each one,if not you have found your problem, the crank will need to be straightend and retrued/welded.

weak stators will run ok at idle and lower speeds, but will not produce the power needed to provide the spark power needed to run at 8500rpm.

JOSH, IF I AM READING THIS RIGHT (can,t find my classes)
CHARGE COIL RESISTANCE
WHITE-WHITE - COLOR CODE
0.36~0.44 oems
3:16 (YAMMIE TONY)

i highly doubt its the crank outta phase. if that was the case, it would be outta balance and vibrate and probably run poorly and not reach that 8500 rpm at all. i would put money on it that its the stator over the crank outta phase.

Pretty tuff to say without you even checking it isnt it? had a 2000 srx here just last year that had the crank out wouldnt reach rpm.............never know until you check, its definitely doable if you blow a belt at high speed.
