HI,
I'm new here and this is my first post. My SRX700, 2001, has a grinding sound with vibration that occurs as the track loops around. This occurs at very slow speeds, walking speeds and a bit faster, have not tried more speed since it started doing this today. It gives the feeling that this is creating drag ? I put it on a stand the track looks ok, maybe a bit loose as it hangs freely several inches sagging down in the middle, but when you run it on the stand it does not make this noise. It was fine yesterday for a two hour run....
Thanks for any input...

I know it sounds too simple...but...check/change your drive belt and see if the problem goes away.

You should check the condition ofthe drive axle bearing on the left side of the sled. It is just below the jackshaft and behind the speedometer drive. You should check the condition ofthe jackshaft bearing as well, it is right behind the secondary clutch pulley. Put the sled on a stand, remove the drive belt and rotate the track. Check the free play of both shafts. If you have not serviced these bearings or replaced them in a few seasons, they probably need to be changed.

I agree, check the bearings!
If it's hanging down several inches on the stand your track is to loose,, then when you put a load with weight on it I bet your drivers are slipping........

If it only does it sometimes, it could be ice build up in the tunnel. Butbit's a good idea to check the rest anyway.

Does anyone know if a 2003 Viper full suspension will bolt onto a 2001 SRX700 ? I need front A-ARM Pivot(looks like a H) and new rails. The A-ARM is back ordered. I can get a used 2003 Viper complete suspension from someone, it 2300 miles and looks in good condition, plus if it works I will have spare parts. Any one know if this will work.
Thanks
