this is a 1970 sled. The engine is tight from sitting from what I am told. I am wondering what would you do to get it moving again?
I was thinking on using some seafoam, oil,pb blaster.ect....
I am also thinking.... " I wonder how the bearing would be"
What do you guys think?
I am soon getting the sled and we will see....

penetrating oil and tranny oil in the bottom end and cylinders. rings are probably stuck to the jug if you are lucky. let it sit with oil in it for a couple days-weeks and try to turn it over by the clutch. should run if it has fire.

i have found that if you fill the engine with diesel fuel, it is a great lubricant to break things loose that have been sitting too long. Works wonders and is cheap for a couple gallons

Next best thing coming out of Yamaha.
You want more torque? Try our new diesel Apex.

I would soak it with Deep Creep. If you're not familiar with the product, check it out here http://www.seafoamsales.com/deep-creep.html

marvel mystery oil. We put it in a 1936 Deere tractor that was outside for 20+ years. Had it running 24 hrs later.

Got the sleds here. Got the head off. Here the crank must be frozen. Pistons and cylinders look just fine....no rust on walls of cylinders either....
The sleds are pretty much hammered. He has no idea about how sleds should be...
I am not sure what he is going to do ......
Thanks guys for the help....

1970? Some sentimental value? Unless this is a classic, will probably cost more to get running than it is worth. Any pics? Al

The sleds are in bad shape. He is going to scrap them or sell the parts.
They were just so neglected.
