2000 600 SXR backfire

I have a 2000 600 SXR which will backfire through the exhaust after about 40 miles or so, any ideas? Carbs are cleaned, Valves? Thanks Brian

there are no valves on a SXR 600..check your carbs..

Sorry I have a SX 600, don't know if that matters, but it does have reed valves, I will check the carbs again, thanks

check your reeds. Had this same problem with my sled and replacing the cracked reeds solved the problem.
