i'm heading out to winter park, co next month with my 144 viper. i want to know what i need to change out to run at that high of an elevation?? 9-12k feet. thanks.
Jetting, clutching, beacon (know how to use it), shovel, probe, saw, lots of water, enough survival type gear so you can spend a night (or two) in the woods if things go wrong.

right, but what kinda jetting and clutching do i need???
Can't help you there. Srx or redhead I have some options, but not for a viper.
If you have a manual it has all the jetting and clutching info for different elevations.
I live and ride up here. I have 145.5 but 146.3 is a good one too. Runs a little rich but no real power loss. BEWARE that if you run slow for a distance and gas it you may burn it down....known problem with heads on Viper. Either dont ride it slow or get an Opticool gasket. 40 bucks and an hour to save a motor..............
