hey guys, wanted to get new lines on the beast while the motor is out. anyone have ideas of how much I should buy? and what size? thinking 3/8 for almost all and one smaller size. thanks guys :)

I replaced the crappy fuel yellow fuel lines the previous owner had for black rubber OEM. I spend 15 bucks for the fuel lines.....I know it could get spendy but the regular clear hose is not the same...

See if you can get some other kind other than clear type. But one of my lines from the fuel pump to the carb has a 90 dreegre angle also....So I am not sure how well aftermarket will work....JMO

I was going to get the heavy duty blue stuff, not just clear lines from a hardware store. thoughts on that stuff? getting it from a sled dealer

Some here have had issues of it swelling and leaking from what I've read. I've used it on a few applications (niether were a Viper) this year and in the past without a problem.

Not much of an answer I know but leaking fuel is never a good thing so perhaps the size of the stuff folks found to leak wasn't correct or ????

I can't imagine a dealer using it if it wasn't working so ask the service department what they use or to be safe use OEM. The parts counter person would be the last person to ask.

I was thinking of using the POLYURETHANE lines. should be ok no? anyone know what the stock lines are?

If they are blue, thats what I had and they swelled right up in a few days. The gas was coming out from inbetween the hose and carb fittings WITH clamps!! Also the in-tank hose fell off as well. AGAIN could be the ethanol in gas. The hoses became super rubbery like a sling shot hose.

The OEM lines are the best rubber hoses I have ever layed my hands on, they stay soft forever (almost).

OEM!!

all the oil and gas lines are still soft, should I bother replacing them? the only one that is stiff is the pulse line to the pump. thoughts?

If they are still soft and appear to be in good shape (fit tight on nipples?) I wouldn't change them. I've never owned a tripple Yammie but unless there is something different about their pulse lines they should be harder than the rest. The pulse line needs to hold a vacume so it needs to be stiffer. It might be OK too.

it is solid, like no flex. its the reason why I thought about simply replacing everything at the same time

The lines on my '01 are still in great shape and I agree that the OEM fuel lines are top notch so I'd expect your '03 to be in as good or better shape.

The pulse line appears to be standard glass braided fuel line which has a much thicker wall and again mine appears to be holding up as well as the fuel lines.

Unless you're seeing leaks, cracks or stiffness I'd leave them alone - IMO.
