Hey guys.. I've posted about this before, but thought I had it solved. My belt likes to squeak when at idle. Its a new belt.. about 150 miles on it.. New bolts in the secondary too. center to center looks good.. I don't have an alignment tool to check offset. What are the washers on the main secondary bolt for.. Could they have something to do with it?

On the backside I removed the washers from the small bolts and it went away on the new belt.

Same here, but now I get a little bit of minorly noticeable squeal while at lower engaged speeds. It's nothing like the idle sqeal that the new belt had, but I can notice it. It's been a good 1000 miles since I put the belt on, maybe I need to put the shims back in?
The odd thing is that the squeal does not show up until I've been riding a good hour or so.

Maybe I need to simply clean the sheaves???

The squeal is caused by the inner diameter of the belt rubbing on the shaft of the primary clutch. You could correct this by decreasing the clutch center to center distance by 1-2mm or just put up with it until the belt breaks in a bit more.

Washers control the height of your belt in the secondary. I usually set it for a flush fit with the top of the secondary. Normally the squeel will go away with some miles on the belt.
