My Son and I went for a ride on the lake today. One complete lap was 36 miles. We ran 3 hot laps at or near WOT the whole time. The East side of the lake 2' plus of deep heavy snow, the west side had about 6". In 3 laps we needed fuel, just over 100 miles. Worst milage yet. lol Al

they usually go at WOT, until,,,, they blow! then you'll be stopping..

wish I had your luck... you're riding with a horseshoe, no doubt... tj

Drove a groomed lake trail on lac du bonnet on my attak. 12 miles at 118 mph on the speedo.

I've ridden across many of the big/long lakes in the Ely area, Birch, White Iron, Shagawa, Burntside & Vermilion over the last 4 years since I bought my 700sx and have run almost all of them pretty much WOT from end to end at one time or another. Birch & Vermilion are probably the longest of these and they are long. I couldn't tell you how many miles, but maybe someone would know.

where is srx102, I think he would win, though the guy above, did pretty good.

Long lake a couple times, on my viper and srx, I think its 12 or 20 but I am sure I slowd down somewhere in between to shake the carple tunnel out of my hand. Now I have a lefty for the long rides.

It was such a blast, my Son's Viper was basically beside me, about 50 feet or so away most of the time. Like I said only on set of tracks in the snow on the first lap. The snow was so soft and each bay is large enough to make WOT turns exept for one, I think we slowed to mayby 60 mph and then back up to Full throttle. I did not notice any belt slippage, but I could notice the fuel gauge going low. Due to the slower than normal speeds at WOT the clutches were not into overdrive. The SXR was running about 8,500 rpm's not sure of the Vipers. You know we also have a Phazer II long track, this is basically a guest sled, I bet it runs WOT alot due to trying to keep up lol Anywho, it was a blast and I hope we can do it again. This will be a ride which will be talked around the table for quite awhile. Al

100 miles on 12 gallons of gas at WOT. That's pretty good mileage.

As long as your carb's are clean and the jets are set for the temps you are riding at I wouldn't worry about running wot. I'd check the temp gauge and oil usage to make sure your not starving it. I think the speeds are harder on other components at those speeds rather than the motor. Having a track, jackshaft bearing, or cheap belt let go would be my worry.

I remember 2 occasions that I was running WOT for so long my hands got tired of holding on. First time was in the mid 80s on my Phazer running across Houghton Lake here in Mi running from the north end over to the South end for tip-up-town. Felt like for ever but it was cloudy and poor visibility we couldn't see the shoreline in any direction at one point. Another was on Trail 8 in the UP on the old rail road track that runs northeast out of Raco toward the Soo.

I have not refueled yet, The gauge shows nearly empty on both. Usually this takes about 9 gallons of fuel to top off from this point.

11 Miles

I have never had the balls myslef but my friend Dan held his SRX 600 wide open for 11 miles on Indian Lake without a blip of the throttle. Speedo was over 100 the whole way. No issues!
