Ready to take the viper back to stock. Now want to focus on clutching. Got a pretty good understanding now after reading aaens and as many posts here as I could. No expert tunner by any means but I at least understand what u guys are talking about now. Not as scarry as I thought. To my ?. How does clutching effect mpg as far as kits go. Like iv'e read the simple 53/43 helix with green spring will bring up mpg. Im looking at a mrviper heelclicker set up. How does somthing like that effect mpg? This was one of the big reasons I went back to stock so important to me how I clutch. Did not read anything about the effects so I came to the clutch experts. Thanks guys. Chris

You load the motor harder you use more fuel. If you want a slow poor performing but good on fuel sled keep the clutching stock.

I do realize that. Was was looking for some real life mpg numbers. Say a 40 - 10 hc kit set up to pull corner to corner gets 11 mpg? I don't know and I know every sled is diff. Looking for other peoples mpg with clutched vipers. Just to get an idea so I better know what direction to go with my clutching.

Check my sig below for my clutching setup. I get over 100 miles on a tank. Used to get over 120 miles but since the 136 addition the mileage dropped a bit

My setup is similar to stein700sx. Heel clickers, 48/34 cam, trail ported, Stock Pipe. When my clutching was close to stock I got 14mpg on average and as high as 16MPG once in a while. Once I got my heel clickers dialed in I richened up the jetting to be safe. 1 1/2 sizes on the main 150 Pilot, 1/2 step on clips. I may be a little richer than needed I'm Safe. I think I was a little lean and lucky when I was ported with stock weights and ported. Anyway I now get 10 to 11 MPG on average. I think it is worth it.
