With all of this talk about 1000ft speed and different weights, what impact is the gearing going to have on this. My 02 Viper with CPR pipes ran 97 in the 1000 ft with stock gearing, Heavy Hitters loaded to 53 grams, Black HH spring, and a 54/46 helix with a silver wrapped to 100 turning 9100 rpm. This is not my normal helix, spring arrangement, but it gave me the best speed. Would I expect to pick up any speed by going to the SRX gearing or should I stay viper gearing?
I'm also going to throw my 8BU00s in there next time I take it out to play at the radar. My clutches have always been hot, but when I checked the alignment this season, it was off quite a bit, Aligning them did seem to do much in the clutch temp department, but I picked up about 3 mph over last years speed. I would expect the CPR viper to post better than 97 in the 1000', but I am running an 1 1/4 pred with 192 studs so I don't think that helps.

that helix seems to aggressive for a thousand feet. try a for around 50/40 or 48/42 or straight 45. silver spring is more for 500 ft. Try green with like a 70 degree twist... I dont know much about black HH spring. 22/38 or 23/38 gearing would be best...

I have a bunch of helixes and that was just the biggest multi angle one I had, just threw it in to test. Pretty much ran 95-96 with the others I tried. What kind of helix are the 8BU00s going to like, a shallow start or a steep start?
