f-III's were some really fast sleds.

Not that fast....a good one might be faster then an old sacked out SRX. So, he might of beat one..anything is possible...but as a rule the opposite is true.
I believe that. I have a riding buddy with a Formula 3 600 with crankshop pipes that is unreal. It is very strong on top. We have beat more sleds with that old thing than I can count.

yea to tell you the truth i think that it is very possible, especially if the srx is getting stock-traction as well. Those F-3's are pretty damn fast, heaviest thing on this planet that should ever go across a frozen lake, but fast nonetheless. A well set up F-3 should give the srx a bit of a run. Not sayin that the F-3 will necessarily win, but it wont be blown out, thats for sure

F3's are fast, no dought! I don't know about the 700's, but this 600 of my old ladies will woop *** on A stock srx 700. Everyone says that could'nt be! It's clutched, geared, ported, and has almost stock pipes. Runs 117-120 on radar in 1/2 mile, even with the m-10, but I do re-adjust it for ice racing. I might add that she only weighs 115 pounds, I think that helps.

I had a buddy with a 98 formula 3 700,single pipe and before i piped my sx, he would only get by me at 90 mph, and then very slowly walk away. I had silencer mod, 51/43 helix, stock weights with 4.5 rivets and secondary at 90 degrees, we always played off trail so i kept the wrap tight, never got the chance to play with the tension cuz i ended up putting benders on the next year.It was always who got the better holeshot.

I'm with boondocker my 700sx with bender pipes takes my buddies F3 700 single pipe. An srx usually gets me by a sled.

I used to own a 98 f3 700 it was pretty fast but I think my srx is alot faster.Never ran my f3 on radar so I can't really say wich one was faster, will have to line up one of those f3 & find out who's faster.............

My brother was out on my SXR tonight...F3 fell to both my SXR and our Vector with 0 kms on it. He said the Vector just killed it anywhere...once again...skidoo=slow.

What you really need to find out is if the sled has tripple pipes. some of the 700's had'm some didn't. Either way if it's stock, my money is on the srx. Tripple piped doo might give you a little trouble if you don't maintain your clutches, or your belt is old.

thats why i posted this thread, he said he beat multiple srxs with his stock set up(mbrp can), he said some were moded and some were stock.. it only has the single pipe, anyway the f3 700 is a nice sled i was just curious if this was true or if he was just talking alot of crap.
It's possible
The early F3's had tripple pipes and were FAST. The reason they put the single pipe on it in later years was to de-tune it because it was just as fast as the Mach 1 and nobody wanted to buy the Mach 1. If he was beating the SRX I am not surprised but are you sure the F3 was stock? A little work on those early tripple piped models and they are FAST. I would'nt want to have to ride it in anything but a straight line but fast nonetheless.

good point junior, that could deffinently be the case. Jimbo, I don't think i'm out of line when I say that A worn out belt or dirty cluches could cost you this race. No way Ehhhh, where have I heard that before?

i know im faster than a lenth on a piped sx700. must be something wrong with that one that you ran... or maybe your sled is super fast...any way, its nice to know its performing well.
