is there any advantage to running a larger bottom gear on my gpx or exciter for drag racing using a 40 tooth instead of a 35 or 33 tooth as long as the ratio is close to what a person wants ? Thanks

one advantage would be the chain is pulling over a larger diamater. this uses less HP but probably not enough to notice. i think the clutches are more efficient with larger gear ratios but drive belt speed increases. im running 15/35 on my sled and the clutches finally reach full shift at 600 feet....
