changing primary spring

any easy way to change the primary spring with just taking the face plate off? I'm runnin h/c with a red spring and i would like to try the grey.

Get a washer that fits over the primary bolt. Pull bolt, slide washer on, thread it in finger tight. Then back out cover bolts completely. Now all pressure is on the main primary bolt and washer. Back that out slowly holding cover w/ hands. It might be hard with those heelclicker springs.
