hi all, first off new to the site and i no there is a lot of valuable information to be had here! first off blew my sled up a month ago, broke piston skirt. i was out of round and bought the sled used with 5700 miles had good comp but proved otherwise after a few miles. heres what i am have done so far, i got a wiseco top end rebuild kit. bought all new bearings and had my crank rebuilt and trued. also am in the proce of getting my jugs replated which will be done early this week. now heres my questions... i have read around all sorts of different break in proceses and i am really confused what works best for the nikasil cylinders for ring set. i am draining oil and putting mineral oil in and am gonna pre mix my tank but am uncertain of what works well for these sleds in particular. also i am playing around with the idea of polishing my ports, now is this something i could do on my own with a dremmel and some scotch bright? i doubt i would be removing enough to effect the port timing but i am not sure... also i am considering heatwrapping my pipe and i was wondering the process of that also and if it does make a big a change in performance as people say it does?

thanks all for the help

Good luck with the Wiseco kit, be sure to warm the sled up very well before riding, everytime! The factory pistons would be a much better choice for durability and are very forgiving.
You can just smooth out the castings to get a little better flow. If you dont have expirience with porting a 2 stroke, just smooth things out and don't open it up.
Clutching will help out just as much.

ive always ran wisecos they are much much stronger becaue of the alloy and are less likely to piston skirt collapse. but yes you are very right on it being essential to warm the sled up for sure. i always do and have never had an issue

also i do not undertand cllutching one bit but i did just rebuild my primary with new weights and roller le than 200 miles ago but as for springs and what not i dont understand how to
