I just received the aftermarket trailing arm I ordered from Royal Distributing here in Canada and its not even close to the original!! For starters the dam thing is black and the front shaft where the spindle goes is about 2 inches shorter than the stock one, WTF? Has anyone else encountered this before?
I checked the part number and it is correct. The funny part is that the part numbers are the same for all Yamaha models with trailing arms, is this even possible?

Yeah, thats a problem. I'd call and ask for my money back.
The spindle is much shorter on an SRX vs. Viper/SXR in addition to other differences...

I figured that, the worst part is that if I knew they were going to send me garbage I would of coughed up the extra $150 for an OEM one and ordered that.

That is almost always the better choice, if you call them bring it to their attention the arms are not all the same. Somehow im sure this is not the first time this has happened with them.Viper_Jim said:I figured that, the worst part is that if I knew they were going to send me garbage I would of coughed up the extra $150 for an OEM one and ordered that.
Yes I also ordered from their with the same results.

It definitely put a sour taste in my mouth for them as a distributor and for aftermarket parts in general. To date I have put nothing but OEM parts on my sled, this was actually the first time I've ordered any aftermarket parts (outside of all the longtrack kit and clutching)

The sad thing is, if it did fit it would likely bend or break soon anyway.

one hard landing away from the shock mount failing is what I have seen here
