Went out to load snowmobile sunday and as I went around the side of the house my handle bars broke off and the engine went wide open. I tried to hit the kill switch but couldn't and as I hit a drift the front end went up and and I fell off. Snowmobile headed out cross country wide open and made it about a mile before it crashed. Just bought this sled a while back and I did notice that the tors was bypassed but didn't think much of it. Now I wish that I would have checked it out. Just thought I would make a note of this as I know that lots of yamaha sleds are running around with this disconnected. Luckily no one except me got hurt and no other property besides the snowmobile. It could have been alot worse.

Looking for a replacement. I think most of the front suspension is still o.k. and the rear m-10 looks to be o.k. I thought my shoulder was done for the year but today it feels alot better so mabey I'll be able to ride more before the snow melts.

I was just noticing this past weekend that the TORS is disconnected on the SRX that I just bought. After seeing this, I am definitely going to hook it up. Hopefully it works and doesn't give me issues.

Im sure some of you have seen my rant on disconnecting the torrs. Ok for testing, not ok for fixing problem. Fix the reason the torrs is going off. Im sure most of the time its not even the torrs. Chris

Holy Balls! Man as bad as that sled looks, and that does suck, you're right it couldve been WAY Worse!!!

I hooked mine back up after 2 years without it. Things just happen so fast, that could have been a life changer right there.

I have disconnected it on all my SRX's and yes it could become a problem. So I added a tether cord to add a bit of safetly.

Notice in the picture that there is a tether cord on this machine. As I was going off I yanked the cord out and guess what, it kept on going. So that is not exactly a permanent solution either as I found out.

Can someone take a picture of EXACTLY where TORS are commanly disabled. I sure I'm not the only one that doesn't know......Mabey mine is disabled also ??????!!!

Thanks
Dannyboy

P.S. Sorry about your loss. Glad no one was injured.

This needs to be a sticky!!!

never bypass TORS,,,,it's a simple system people and not hard to diagnose.
