Guys, I just picked up a 2002 SRX in excellent condition. The machine has been stretched to 136". I traded my 2001 700MM for it, which by the way was also in excellent condition. However, the Mountan Max had double the mileage. Anyhow, my 700MM had reverse and I want it on the SRX. Would a reverse kit for the SX Venom work? The part number is 8EN-W4759-10. Thanks.
You can use that kit but like every other reverse kit you will have to be creative to adapt it to fit on an SRX as they were never intended to have reverse. There is an instruction section in the Snowmobile tech section on installing reverse on an SRX also a search will get you more info.

I looked at the instructions that other members posted. I realize that I will have to modify the shifter and relocate the coolant bottle. I saw somewhere that someone said that the best kits to use would be the Viper or the Viper Mountain kits. I guess what I am asking is that which kit is the best and easiest to use? This SX Venom kit is on Ebay and it is still a bit pricey. I don't want to drop that much coin and it being not the best one to use. Thanks for the quick response.
All the Viper/Mountain Viper/trailing arm Phazers/Venoms/MM/SXRs/SXs...in other words all the trailing arm chassis use the same basic kit, the only differences are gear ratios and the pre 2000 kits gears and chains are not compatible with the newer HYVO chains and sprockets but still can be used by using the older chains and top sprocket on the newer sleds.
I have a Mountain Viper kit on my SRX a Phazer kit one 99 SX and a MM kit on our other SX.

This fall I put reverse on my 01 srx and I didn't have to relocate anything, or cut anything up too. having a bender can gave me alot of room too. The reverse lever is what would cause you to relocate the coolant bottle but if you mount the lever on the other side of the notch on the case no relocating of the bottle is needed.

Hey Eggy, did you use the instructions from the tech FAQ to do the install? Did you have to notch the reverse lever mounting plate to clear the e-brake actuator arm? Did you have to cut the e-brake arm and relocate the cable to the inside of the arm? I'm trying to find the best way to complete this project with the least amount of modification. I don't mind the modifying part, however, I like keeping everything stock. Thanks for all the info.
