fox floats

anyone here ive seen either has shock mounts made, or change the buld head to an older style such as an srx or something of that nature. its tough with these sleds because vipers and i beleive sxr and xtc are the same, they have fork style mounts on the bulkhead end of the shock, everything else has the nuckle style. there are threads on this site with pics that people have made mounts to accept the nucklt style shocks if you do a search.

I feel like for the effort, you would be better off with Ohlins. anything can be done though!

I actually think pioneer performance is having a sale right now. not positive, but worth looking into

Anyone know if fox floats will work on front of a viper and if so which ones . And do you need to modify anything?

They will work. Myself and a few others run them in our Vipers. Mine is a Mountain Viper.

They do require you to remove the stock shock mounting brackets and procure and install "clevis" style mounting brackets. This is not impossible or rocket science to accomplish.

If you are serious, pm me. Or else contact Carver Performance. He carries everything you need -- the clevis mounts and the Fox Float shocks.

It's all in what you want. I like Floats a lot. Especially in the front. I also really like Ohlins. On both my sleds I run Float 2's front (Viper Mt and an Attak) and I run Ohlins in the skid.

;)!

Hmmmmmmm.

Not trying to be disagreeable, but it depends on what you like. I like air shocks a lot. They have a unique feel I like. While I really like Ohlins also, if you like the feel of air shocks (such as Floats), then no coil over will relace the feel of air shocks.

Just my $.02!

I am very serious about putting a set of fox floats on my viper though it is only a 121 in . I really like the sled but it is in dyer need of a complete overhaul. So I am hoping to do a complete overhaul and strip down of the entire sled this summer. It's been through hell in the last 8 years .lol I'm also going to install a nytro skid but keeping it a 121.it Def needs a better ride.what's your thoughts on the nytro skid with a set of floats in the front? Do you think I will need to raise the front end or will it be ok .

are some year vipers diffrent from others? not sure without going out and looking right now but i thought mine was cast into the bulkhead, not replaceable mounts like my old sx and srx had.

The stock front shock mounting brackets are not cast into the bulkhead -- they are removeable with a little bit of work.

the nytro skid and fox up front will rock in the viper. i put the nytro skid under my 03 rx1 and love it i need to do my front shocks maybe works performance or fox. this summer im going to put the adboivin zx2 in my viper.
