im trying to get my shocks set up and the owner manual is long gone :o| ..
what is the rider height (travel) for a 02 viper ??? and since i put a tunnel extention on will i still measure from the end of the tunnel or from where the tunnel use to end ??

also , what is the stock setting for the limiter straps and how do you guys measure them ?? from the top of the bolt to the base or what ???

thanks for any help ... :WayCool:

If I was on your sled, I would set the ride height by getting 50/50 on the space above and below on the transfer rod, possibly with less gap on the lower side than the top as we are both spring chickens... Limiter setting. I would start with getting the skid to sit flat on the floor in the garage, and play with it if needed to get your Simmons to bite on the soft trail snow.

To get the proper gap on rods, is adjusting the the rear spring the only way to acheive this, because i have set the FRA at the stiffest and still have little gap on top.............James

Can't you set the FRA softer then adjust the back shock? As I understand all this happens while your sitting on the sled, equal distance top and bottom on the rods.

I just want to make sure i got it right, if i have little to no gap on the top i need to stiffen the FRA and/or increase preload on the rear spring right?.............James

If you stiffen up the rear spring or the fra, it will decrease the gap on top from previous setting. Switching the plastic spacers will change the weight transfer

You mean to say i have been trying to add preload and stiffen FRA the last 2yrs and actually doing the reverse of what i wanted #$%&* :o| , oh well  Merry Christmas everybody!...........James

If you have your FRA set to stiff and a stiff setting on your spring you will have or should get a smaller gap on the top spacer of your rods.I was just in the skid last night trying to stiffen the rear spring..lots of turning.

Dyslexia... Larger gap on the top is stiffer than a smaller gap on the top, call me a dummy. Look at the gap before you sit on it its really big, and when you sit on it it gets smaller, so if you go stiffer it won't decrease as much.
