Ok, I'm sure this is an elementary question, but which side of the motor is the mag side and which is the pto side.
I'm assuming the pto side is the side with the clutch and the secondary (the left side from the driving position) and the mag side is the side with the recoil starter and exhaust piping (the right side from the driving position.)
Is that right? PTO and Mag are too short for the search engine to pick up.

Your assumptions are correct.
How about this, "pto" = Power Takes Off (from here) or as a tractor you hook up to the "pto" to power your implements.

I actaully do know what PTO means. I grew up on/near a farm and have seen what a PTO will do to a leg if it grabs your pant leg.... not pretty.
