I need to know if i can put a 99 mountain max crank in 97 cases and if i put 780 sleeves in my jugs do i have to do any other work to the cases or head?. Where do i get 780 pistons?

I know they updated the crank in 98 , they are the same motor, can't say for sure but it should fit. I know this isn't the answer your lookin for, but i have never tried to replace in a diff crankcase. and no one else is responding.780 sleeves should go right in without a hitch...I think i have seen them with pistons on e-bay.sorry could'nt be of more help

Yes on the crank, but the case has to be modified to accept the retainer ring/key for the additional bearing that is on the 99 crank.
