would a engine from a 95 vmax fit/work in a 97 xtc chassis i have the 95 engine looking @ a 97 w/blown engine

Im curious about that myself, i just bought a 97 xtc 600 for $200!! Needs a motor rebuild and a little tlc. But i have a 500 from a 96 vmax and would like to know if it would work in the proaction chassis.
