I have a 99 mountain max 700. I installed center dump power inc pipes. My mileage went from about 100 miles a tank to 40. I run between 5000 - 9000 ft. Does this sound normal or is there something wrong? I smell fuel when idling and just sitting without it running. I've looked around and don't see any spots where fuel is coming out. Also it bogs sometimes, at low end and mid range. I'm stumped. Considering going back to stock pipe, don't want to though. Should I go with another brand pipe? The dealer here installed them so i don't know what my carbs are set to, I don't know how to tell.

Did you change jetting & clutching for those pipes at your elevation?
There is an exact set up for those pipes in the tech pages.

You just don,t bolt on pipes & go.
You must rejet & reclutch to match the fuel & new power.
You also must have some mechanical ability or a close friend that does to dial in a modded sled or it will never ever work right & good chance you will at least blow it up from being too lean or pig rich & never run right.
Did you buy those pipes knowing exactly what it needed for jetting plus the fact the motor must run no higher then 8100 rpm or your slower then stock?

I said I did have the dealer install them. I've gone to them for years. I assumed they rejetted and clutched but not sure. (you know what they say about assuming) I didn't know there were specs for that already on here. I'll check it out. I just need help on how tell jet size and so forth. Thanks.
definitely jetting. someone wasn't paying attention. read the tech files here about carbs, download the setup specs either here or bender. should at least get you a direction to go.
