I'm looking for opinions on which mod works better on the 700 triple with pipes, reed spacers or the notched reed cage stop?
they both do pretty much the same thing but the notch your dont have the carbs pushed back against the steering...and I have heard but have not seen the dyno results that the notch is slightly better...
ultimax do the notch,i wish i had known about this way before now its a little work but well worth it,the grin on your face when you snap the throttle will attest to this little trick. throttle response is amazingly better... no lag at all it like a cable modem its always on, and the best part is ITS FREE!
PLUS THE SPACERS PUSH THE CARBS UP AGAINST THE STEERING COLUMN AND RUB ON THE CENTER CARB BOWL in which you will have to put spacers under your motor mounts, more work involved then pulling the carbs notching the top 3 stoppers putting them back in and its done.if you do the notch i would recommend using blue locktite on the 3 screws that hol the stopper to the cage just for a little insurance.
