i have a 2002 stock viper and just need her to give all shes got in 800ft this up coming weekend. i have the stock 8ek weights and 8ca weights. i have a stock set up besides the green springs set at 50 right now with loaded 8ek weights and still over revving to 9000 rpms, gearing is 1.85 ratio, ripsaw track with no studs, i have ywy and ygy springs and red and green secondary and also have 47 straight 51 43 helix and 51 45 helix, any recommendations would be awesome. sled runs awesome. all carb circuits are good had pipes on it but took them off cause too much trouble, now want to see what its got stock. thanks ross

funny part is we got 2 arcticcats that come up every weekend. one says f7 on it but its and f8 and absolutly rips stuff up and the other is a true 700 but has ypipe pipe can reflashed ecu timing key and clutching and that thing is the fastest true 700 i have ever seen. flat out rips.

I think you are still over-revving because you are running that low of a gear ratio. If you are running snow try a 70 or 80 wrap with the green. Its not the right way to do it but it will drop your rpm a little.

Is 9000 to high. Seem others are spinning that fast? When I was at the drags,,2 weeks ago,, prostock thunder cats 900/1000/1300cc? were fastest? Think thats what you call them,,They looked kinda older,,,Black/no stickers,,(maybe custom glass hoods,,,,tough as nails. made the earth shake,,,way cool!

good point never thought of that. i just moved it to 80 cause we went riding around in the woods with hills and i wanted a little better back shift and the rpms still over revved like nuts. so i am guessing cause my gear ratio is so short thats the reason. good call. but i dont want to raise it cause i can barley squeeze 100 out of it and thats what i like plus its good for the local drags around here i guss.
