Hey guys,
Just bought myself a 1981 SRX 440 Mod Stock w/ aeen pipes 46.2 carb (i believe) w/ a 77 srx suspension. Im just wondering if anyone ever sees any speeds that vintage 440 mod classes are running. I mean i see 75-90's around here but the guy who owned it before me said he had it like 112... Todd Lewis was his name. Does this sound correct. Pat Haucks old 440 mod he raced at Hay days years back.... im hoping to get over 100. I was told it is pushing around 120 Hp.

Not sure what a 1981 will do but the current world record in improved stock 440 vintage is 110.769mph in 1000' on a 1977 SRX440

Todd Lewis???? Good name to have attached to a sled.

It will run.

Those 81's will fly in the right hands.

Here is an honest 106 MPH in 1200' stock sled on pump gas.

Did you ever see any of his vintage 440 run at radar runs??? Or hear

Jamie do you do radars or drags with you vmax? 540 right? How much Hp you pushing and pipes?

Really what you get for it? If you dont mind me asking ... so that scoop on the front will help you with top speed for radar? Is your tunnel extendeed or is your seat shorter

We had a vintage ride around here and there was one of those 550 Interceptors there. After seeing those speeds I'm glad I didn't line up with him. I wanted to at the time but there is no way my 84 Vmax would have been close. He would of had 15mph on me.
