SRX to Viper Crank

2000 and up srx cranks will fit in a viper

The viper crank was designed slightly lighter then the SRX's with its pork chop design like darv said

Sex crank works well. In the viper it will rev up as fast, but it will pull way harder/be way torquier. I ran one in my viper for more than a year in my spare motor. I did not even need to change my clutching.

Can you explain this?

been on the dyno both ways, engine didnt make any more power either way. what you gain in weight loss with viper crank, you lose in crankcase pumping efficiency with the full circle crank of the srx.

6 of one, half a dozen of the other :dunno: .

Okay I know it is seat of the pants but, with stock viper crank stock motor, with the clutching I have(HC40-10's) my 136" viper is pretty much neck and neck with my dad 05 700 venture(HC40-10's). With the Srx bottom end and viper cylinders, srx head, Venture would take me to 50mph then I would pass the venture and get about 3 sled lengths ahead. After 90mph I would start walking away from him. Both sleds hitting 8600rpm.

Other thing was with the viper motor I could never get the ski's off the ground. With the SRX bottom end my ski's would lift 2-3" off the ground.

With the srx bottom end last year I topped out over a Arctic Cat 800 tripple with tripple pipes by about 5mph. I am clutched for on off trail and have a 136" ripsaw.

Maybey I am lucky and the used motor I bought has had something done to it. But the pistons are stock bore and stroke, have no boost ports and the cylinders are not ported(looked with a bore scope).
