I am interested in getting better throttle responsefrom my 01 SRX 700. I read that I can get more HP through out the entire power band by adding V-Force Delta Reeds. If this is true can someone tell me exactly what else I need for parts to accomadate these V-FOrce reeds.

Thanks...any info on this would be appreciated.

all you need is the cages and reeds. typically they are expensive new. on a stock engine ive read they are not worth it.

That's right. OEM reeds are best unless you get into pipes and porting. I've also heard that the V force don't last like the OEM reeds do. I'm nearing 27,000 kms on my 01 and I'll be replacing the reeds for the first time this week because they seem a little weaker now.

i had vforce 2 in my srx and they got real bad both pedals broke on one side so i went to boysen power reeds on stock cages, then to vforce 3's. but im not stock either.

My SRX is stock. Its always been sluggish when first giving it throttle. The first couple seconds when i first pull out seems sluugish and i want to improve that somehow, if possible.

probably needs a carb cleaning and carb adjustment. you could just put new OEM petals or carbon tech petals on the reeds, if the old ones are shot, and that would bring back throttle response.

Do some carb tuning. I would go to 42.5 pilots on an 01 SRX with 1.5 turns out on the screws. should come alive then... unless ya have bored carbs lol

cleancut, is the sled all stock?
how many miles on it?

to tell you the truth, the reeds are way over rated, you can take that $300 and put it into clutching and get gobs more useable/definitely noticeable performance increase then just a set of reeds. The stock reeds are hard to beat.

Yea its completely stock. i have almost 2800 miles on it. I agree that the aftermarket cages and reeds are expensive.
