sooo after stopping for a beer the other day out on the lake i took a quick glance towards my sled and noticed that both transfer rods were hanging down ( topside sitting on the track) i took a closer look and noticed that the sleeve that goes over the crossshaft had broke.....it was now a C rather then a O never heard any noise or nothing luckly i caught it b4 it really did any damage to the track lugs....i brought it home and the shaft was greased....and the plastic bushings were still there? i put the ones from my sxr on it to ride out the rest of the winter but what caused this?

Owner abuse?LOL......
Never seen that before.Hows your W-arm?That's usually the weak spot.

P.S. Don't mention stopping for a beer on here. You'll get flamed bad for even thinking about it. ;)!

A couple of years ago a riding buddy decided to put his W on backward. He did an open water crossing and when he hit the ice on the far bank and broke both bars. Limiter straps dont work well with W arm backward.

Did they appear to have been worn through? Like maybe they wore so much that that the metal became very thin..
Never heard of it either!
:worth:
