This was the 2nd MN ride hosted in Chisholm MN. I will call it nonofficial since Mr. Sled wasn't there and I am the one doing the write up.
The attendees where: Dan (thegrizzly1), Carter (Sx Slayer) and Kevin (His dad), Andy (Sleddineinar), Brandon (blueironranger), Mike (SuperSled), Mike (Snowpunisher), My Brother Esteban (AKA Steven or Stephan) and I.
We started on Friday morning; we all got together at Side Lake and started our day ride. After a quick stop at the gas station we headed toward some power lines (since we knew the trails where not the greatest) After about 5 miles of ups and downs (literally), Andy (Sleddineinar) snapped his handlebars. Of course he beat my record of last year 18 miles riding before breaking something, but lets not get into details. The thing is we want it to spend some more time in Dan’s garage and test his welding skills.
After a few hours of cleaning, welding and getting warm, we trailer the sleds to a parking lot and started our boondoking/off trail adventure. Dan led us to an awesome open little swamp/beaver damn/lake/creek, not sure what it was but we all had fun playing in the deep stuff, especially Carter that can really ride his sled (my hat off to you buddy). Should I mention that we all got stuck at least once…? We end up the day with about 25 miles.
Friday night we had dinner at Valentini’s where we meet Dan’s wife.
Saturday we started at Side Lake as well and the day was much warmer and promising since we where going to try some trail riding and a cook out in the woods. Well after some mechanical adjustments (of course) we started riding the lakes and things got a little hot for me. After a few miles on the trail, Dan got an idler wheel delaminating causing his slide to wear thru and show some skid, so he decide to turn back and call it a day (we missed you Dan). We did a nice loop, things where still getting hot for me so after packing my running boards with snow with not much luck, Brandon took off the “homemade/patent pending” ice scratchers he had on his skis and gave them to me. Early afternoon we manage to find a nice quiet are and made a fire (Kevin style) and cook some hotdogs.
After 100 miles we decide it was time to call Dan and meet at Bimbos for dinner and drinks.
I had a great time and hope we can do it again next year….

I'll have to watch for this next year. Maybe I'll venture on over with the Apex Mtn and ride with and get to meet some of you guys. I've always wanted to go on a TY ride.

Previous sleds:
I don't get over to the 2 stroke side much, but I wanted to thank everyone who was on this ride. I had a blast and I got to meet some more awesome TY members.
Niko, thanks for taking care of the write up. The only correction I want to make is we were about 2.4 miles from where we started when Andy tore his handlebars off the mount!
Everyone, thanks for your patience while I got to try my hand at a little on the fly sled repair. More than anything thanks for your patience on the rides. The snow conditions were certainly less than desirable, and I figured more than one of you would wanted to have hung me for leading you down less than a goat path!
Kevin, thanks for sharing all of your yummy morsels on the trail. They really hit the spot, especially on Friday!
I look forward to seeing everyone again next year and hopefully some more new faces as well.
I can't speak highly enough about how great TY member are.

Looks like it was an awesome time! Definately will want to get in on this next year. Always looking to meet new people to ride with since my list is very short (and not that distinct)
