Crank?

I noticed on my crank that each second porkchop has staight lines cut in it. I bought the sled used. Could anyone tell me if this is normal or has the crank be modified?

I am not sure if yours has been modified, but several of the 98/99 srx's had crank issues, and Yamaha was supporting the dealer network for repairs.

I think the warranty fix was that they reindexed and welded the crank.For the cuts not a clue
