how much side to side play should be on the secondary? do you adjust by adding or taking shims out? what about the shim between the secondary and the bearing. how thick should that one be? thank you guys alot!

My 01 doesn't have a shim between the secondary and the bearing. Without being near my sled, I'd estimate that the free play is approx. 3/16".

I lined up the clutches and shimmed inside and outside so there is no free play and solved my belt problems.I think the free play has more to do with manufacturing than actual use. Most other brands have no play.

Well the clutch is supposed to be able to float side to side a little bit so it can self align during opperation. Obviously not too much.

Way too much tension for that secondary to float under RPM.

I followe dthe write up in the tech section for locking the position of my secondary in the proper location to provide the 15 mm offset. The secondary will not float and align itself during operation, there is far too much force on the shaft exerted from the drive belt. In addition to locking the position of my secondary clutch, I was able to install a device to adjust the height of the belt without messing with the 3 bolts and shim washers. I did this modification to my SRX and RX-1, works fine for me. I can adjust the belt height very easily so I can maintain top performance.
